Dear Malis Family, Claudia was a professional colleague of mine through the SEPA community, the group of educators who hold grants similar to the ones that Claudia received. While I only talked with her for a few hours at conferences, her intensity, sense of focus and purpose were captivating and inspiring. Her film is one of the most outstanding pieces to come out of the SEPA program. Her message and methods will influence all of us for years to come. Although I had no claim to her attention, the force of her personality has left an indelible mark on my conscience. As I am saddened by her loss, you must be devastated. Please know that her influence was far flung and all that you have done over the years to support her is appreciated by her professional friends. Her gifts to the world were many.
