My mother told me that April 30, 1949 she not only married the love of her life but she looked beautiful because "Aunt Lucy" made her wedding gown.  They had gone into NY earlier that year to purchase the material.  My mom was also a professional seamstress and taught me to sew....but it was Aunt Lucy who taught me a "sewer's trick" on how to put in a zipper down the back of a dress in a straight line.  This family was sooooo fortunate to have such loving women in our lives!
