Lucy B.  Sabia (Bonini)

Lucy B. Sabia, 90, of Stamford, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 She was born August 27,
1927 to the late Giroloma and Filomena Raia Bonini.

She was born in New Haven, she attended Mystic Oral School for the Deaf where she met her lifelong love. She was a talented seamstress, amazing cook, an avid Betty Boop fan. Lucy was very involved with the Connecticut Deaf Senior Citizens Inc., it was her dream that someday they would build an independent living community for the deaf. Lucy was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted her life to her husband and to raising her
family. She was a loving friend and a great inspiration to everyone.

Lucy is survived by her children Sandy Effren and her husband Jerry of Stamford, Bonnie
Wilson and her husband Charles of Southbury, Joyce Cebo and her husband John of Stamford,
Toni Sabia and her husband Michael LaScala of Stamford, Kim Hiteshew and her husband Steve
of Bethel. She is also survived by her grandchildren Melinda Panapada her husband Donny and
their children Madison, Victoria and Lilliana. Taryn Sabia-Fierz and her husband Adam and their
children Tessa and Coleman. Melanie Sarantos and her husband Peter and their daughter Alison.
Mathew Sabia and his wife Dana and their children Eliana and Mason. Michelle Beck and her
husband Eric and their daughter Lucy. Marc Effren, Jackie Bertolone and her husband Kyle.
Elicia Wilson, Gena Wilson, Robert Pearson and his wife Brittany, Taylor Wilson, Lisa Platt and
her husband Ryan, and Jason Wilson.

Beside her parents Lucy was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Michael G. Sabia as well
as her three siblings, Mary Foley, Joseph Bonini and Nicholas Bonini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bridget’s of Ireland at 278 Strawberry Hill Ave on
Monday June 11, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta
Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave is handling the arrangements.
