Michael A. Galella, 91, of Old Greenwich, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 7, 2018. He was born in Stamford on January 27, 1927 to the late John and Carmella Caoli Galella.
Michael was a WWII veteran who proudly served his country in the Navy. He retired after a 40 year career at Pitney Bowes.
Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for his kindness, selflessness, and of course, his sense of humor. He loved to dance, especially with his wife of 70 years, who predeceased him in April of this year.
Michael is survived by his loving daughters, Diane Hockenbeck and her husband Al, and Renee Lukaniec and her husband Bill. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Megan Lukaniec, Michael Lukaniec, Erinne Bugge and her husband Jim, and his great-granddaughter Cora.
All services were held privately. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory was honored to assist the Galella family with the arrangements.
