Obituary for Isabelle A. Pomponi (Cianciola)

Isabelle A. Pomponi, 92, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She was born in Stamford on January 28, 1926 to the late James and Angelina Greco Cianciola.

She was employed by The Personnel Laboratory Inc. and Garden Homes Management in Stamford.
Isabelle was a member of the St. John Sewing Group and Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. John Church in Darien. Isabelle was an experienced seamstress and quilter. Isabelle and her late husband enjoyed traveling and dancing with their friends to big band music. Isabelle’s most memorable times were
spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Isabelle is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Bova and her husband John, Nancy Rongoe, Judy Eagen and her husband Vaughn; her grandchildren, Christine Osborn and her husband Brad, Catherine Rongoe, Nicholas Rongoe and his wife Toni-Ann, Matthew Bova, Kyle Eagen and his wife Ashley, and Emily Eagen, as well as her brothers, James Cianciola and his wife Eleanor, Joseph Cianciola and his wife Regina, a sister Dolores Twardy and her husband Gregory. Also surviving is her brother-in-law Silvester Pomponi and his wife Alma, sister-in-law Eileen Pomponi and great grandchildren, Portia Osborn, Ava Rongoe, Eliza Osborn, Nicholas Rongoe, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Isabelle was predeceased by her husband Laurente (Larry) Pomponi, and her sister, MaryAnn Cianciola.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on the morning of Thursday, June 14th, 2018 from 9:00AM to 10:15AM, then processing to St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien CT.
