Maryann Brown Garaffa, 81, of Trumbull, and formerly of Stamford, died peacefully but unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born on June 8, 1936, in Stamford, CT to the late Jack and Anna Rachinsky Brown.

She is survived by her son Michael Garaffa and his wife Suzanne, her daughter Lynn Durno and her husband Mark, her daughter Jacky Tymon and her husband Robert, as well as her daughter Sally Garaffa Schneider and her Fiancé, Danny Davis. Her pride and joy were her 13 grandchildren, Derek, Danielle, Megan, Aley, Michael, Amanda, Timmy, Bradley, Alyssa, Katie, Kaela, Thayer and Dylan, and her two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Adriana.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael, and later by her fiancé, John Mahoney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Maryann’s name to Friends of the Trumbull Library, 33 Quality Street, Trumbull, CT 06611.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 9:10 AM and will process to St. Bridget of Ireland R.C. Chruch, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4PM to 8PM.
