Obituary for Nicholas P. Tarantino

Nicholas  P.   Tarantino
Nicholas P. Tarantino, 63, of Darien passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. He was born on September 21, 1954 to the late Anthony and Lucy DiBlasio Tarantino.
Nicholas was a local 3 IBEW Electrician at Hugh O’Kane Electric for more than 22 years, and loved mentoring the apprentices and making sure they learned correctly, he loved going to work every day. He loved the beaches and spending time on the water he was a member of the Darien Boat Club and loved going out on his boat. Nicholas enjoyed sports, coaching little league all the way to Babe Ruth. His favorite sport was golf he loved getting up early on Sundays and spending time with his buddies. He adored his two grandsons, Nicholas and Colton spending time and teaching them everything from golf to baseball and snowboarding, these times brought so much joy and excitement to him.
He is survived by the love of his life, Wendy Tarantino, from the moment they met till the day he died they were just as in love as the first time they met, for over forty years. His family was the most important thing to him, he was the best husband, father and grandfather and brother. He is survived by his daughter Nicole Tarantino of Darien and her fiancé Stephen Newman. His son Nicholas Tarantino, Jr., and his wife Erica of Las Vegas. His brother Anthony Tarantino and his wife Mattia of Darien, brother-in-law Paul Liberatore and his wife Diana of Indiana, brother-in-law Joseph Liberatore and his wife Marilyn of Westport, and his sister-in-law Holly Liberatore of Ohio, all survive him. His is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Nicholas P. Tarantino, III and Colton R. Tarantino of Las Vegas, along with, many nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children who cherished and loved him dearly. They have traveled from all over to be by his side and say goodbye.
Besides his parents Nicholas is predeceased by his mother-in-law Grace Liberatore.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10AM, and processing to Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM. Interment will be privately held.
