Obituary for Ann E. Calka (Tedesco)

Ann Calka, 83, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 21, 2017. She was born February 22, 1934 in Port Chester, NY to the late Alexander and Rose Tedesco.
Ann was a book keeper with Fairfield Testing having retired in 1996. She was a lover of sports having coached softball, she also enjoyed bowling, and playing league bocce at Scalzi Park. Above all she was an avid Yankee fan.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Calka of Stamford, her loving daughter Diane Theresa Calka of Stamford, son, Joseph Paul Calka of Stratford, grandchildren, Kelley Palmer of Stamford, William Coleman of Arizona, and great grandchildren William Coleman, Peter Coleman, and Ryann Palmer. Ann is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by six sisters.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford, CT on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:30 AM processing to St. Maurice R.C. Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Greenwich. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9 AM to 10:30 AM.
