Margaret  Loglisci (Colombo)
Margaret, “Mickey,” Colombo Morelli Loglisci, 86, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Nathaniel Witherell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Greenwich. She was born on November 7, 1930 in Stamford to the late Nicholas and Carrie Pironto Colombo.
A life time resident of Stamford, Mickey graduated from Stamford High School in 1949. A long time resident of the Cove, Mickey and her husband Joe Morelli owned Hobby Delicatessen on Hobby Street for many years. She subsequently retired from Pitney Bowes as customer service rep after 25 years of service and worked until age 80 at the Tower Store in the Citibank Bldg on Washington Blvd. Mickey found joy in her work, her friends, family and shopping and having lunch at Lord & Taylor in Stamford.
Mickey is survived by her loving daughters Debbie Young and her husband Paul of Stamford, Lynn Morelli of Port Chester, NY, and Jodi Morelli of Stamford; sister Patricia, “Bebe,” Romanos of Oxford, CT; grandchildren Courtney Walsh, Ryan Walsh and his wife Kate, Anna Knechtel and her husband Casey, Nina Volpe and Christopher Young; great grandchildren William Walsh and Jack Walsh; step-children Robert Loglisci, Michael Loglisci, and Sandy Loglisci; step-grandchildren Talon Loglisci and Hannah Loglisci. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her parents, Mickey was predeceased by her husbands Joseph Morelli and Joseph Loglisci, as well as her brothers William Colombo, Conrad Colombo, and Joseph Colombo, sisters Marie Policastro and Carol Malizia, and a step-son, Joseph Logslisci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Rd., Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Avenue in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mickey’s memory to Friends of Nathaniel Witherell, 70 Parsonage Rd., Greenwich, CT 06830.
