Paula C. Sherrington

Paula C. Sherrington, 83, of Redding, CT and formerly of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday February 1, 2017. Paula was born on June 30, 1933 in New York City to the late Geraldo and Gloria M. Arana Acevedo.

Paula studied at Hunter College and the Fashion Institute of Technology. After marrying her beloved husband on October 25, 1958, Paula and Harold Sherrington moved to Mexico City, Mexico to begin their life journey together. They formed cherished friendships while abroad that endured throughout the years. Eventually, Paula and Harold returned to Stamford, CT. They planted roots in the community – together starting an OBGYN practice in 1968 that brought happiness into the lives of many. Paula was office manager, nurse, and front desk greeter to the patients that became part of their extended family. Paula balanced work with family, creating a warm and loving home life for Harold and their children, Paul and Zandra. Paula’s culinary specialties were unrivaled; these recipes have become part of her legacy. In retirement, Paula resumed her knitting and crocheting; her works were admired and beloved by all, especially her grandchildren.

Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Harold J. Sherrington of Redding, CT and her loving children, Paul A. Sherrington (Joanne Wuensch) and Zandra A. Sherrington (James Addison) both of New York City. Fond memories remain with Paula’s two sisters, Aurora Rosas of Toms River, NJ and Gloria Rosato of Oakdale, Long Island. Paula will be remembered dearly by her grandchildren, Henry, Ian and Lilyann Sherrington and Sarah and Mary Addison.

All those who knew Paula will miss her energetic spirit and passion for life. May she rest in peace with the Lord in the Kingdom of Heaven.
