Joseph T. Pensiero,Sr., 88, of Stamford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in Stamford on August 26, 1928 to the late Frank and Vincenza Geriomino Pensiero.
Joe was an accomplished carpenter. He worked as a union carpenter for many years and was also self employed. After his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard at the corner of Glenbrook Road and Crescent Street until November of 2015. Joe delighted in making furniture and toys for his family members. He loved watching Westerns and Sports. Joe was a generous, kind and loved by all.
He is survived by his beloved wife Victoria M. Giuliani Pensiero of Stamford, his son Donald Pensiero and his wife Terry of Reno, NV, his sister Rose Golino of Patavia, NY, a grandson Tyler Joseph Pensiero of Naugatuck, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his sons, Joseph T. Pensiero, Jr. and Robert Pensiero, his siblings, Mary Volpe, Lena Bonis, John Pensiero and Angelina Ganino.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 PM.
