Albino J. Romano, 88, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side at Long Ridge Post Acute Care Facility on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He was born in Castelforte, Italy on August 26, 1928 to the late Luigi and Virginia DiTano Romano. Albino was a hardworking successful business man in Stamford for over forty years.
Albino is survived by his son Albino Romano, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Bethel, his three daughters Virginia Vitrella and her husband Joseph of Shelton, Madeleine Terenzio and her husband Steve of Stamford, and Bianca Romano of New Canaan. Albino is survived by his 10 cherished grandchildren Erika, Colette, Stephen Michael, Stephanie, Luigi, Albino III, Christina, Ariana, Danielle and Thomas.
Besides his parents Albino was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Palumbo and their son Thomas Romano, and grandson Jake Romano, and a brother Carmen Romano.
Family and friends may call on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 at 9:20AM and process for A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Scofieldtown Rd. Stamford .Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
