Charles J. ""Babe""  Guarneri
Charles J. (Babe) Guarneri, passed away peacefully at home in the loving presence of his family on July 15, 2016, 83 days after being predeceased by the love of his life, Jacqueline Guarneri. Babe was born July 25, 1939 to the late Michaelangelo and Mary Micciche Guarneri in Pittston, PA at the age of 2, the family relocated to Stamford in 1941, where he resided until his passing.

Babe worked at Pitney Bowes for two years before enlisting in the US Marine Corps when he was eighteen years old, where he was assigned to the USS Taconic during the U.S. Intervention in Lebanon. After his discharge, he returned to Pitney Bowes where he continued his trade as a machinist for forty-five years and retired in 1999. Babe loved his family and was enjoying a restful and relaxing retirement. He enjoyed cooking for his family, his trademarked stuffed mushrooms and broccoli rabe meant much more to the family then the actual food itself; it was the tender, loving care that he put into it; love was the main ingredient in all that he did. Babe’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving where he took charge of the Thanksgiving day meal from start to finish. Babe also enjoyed routing for his favorite team, the New York Yankees from, the best seat in the house, pop-pops brown chair. Babe’s pride and joy were his children and grandchildren and was always excited to hear of their accomplishments

He is survived by his loving daughter Kim Femia and her husband Tony, his son Chuck Guarneri and his wife Laura and his daughter Melissa Guarneri, as well as his five grandsons and four granddaughters and one great grandson soon to be born. Also surviving is his loving brother Joseph Guarneri and his loving sister Jerri Lovallo as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; all of whom meant the world to him.

Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 11:00 AM- 1:30 PM with a Celebration of Life following at 1:30 PM.
