Stacey E. Hoyt, Jr. of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. He was born in Stamford on March 9, 1936 to the late Stacey E. Hoyt, Sr. and Julia Avery Hoyt.
Stacey was employed with the City of Stamford in the Operations Department for thirty years before his retirement. During that time, he was also a Free Mason and Shriner in Stamford, a member of the Shriners Club of Stratford, CT, a member of the Elks Club in Stamford and also very active as a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #6.He was also a veteran, having served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife Ilene Witkowski Hoyt of fifty five years of Stamford, his loving sons Darryl Hoyt of Stamford, Douglas Hoyt and his wife Lisa M. of Stamford, Allan Hoyt and his wife Cheryl of Monroe, two brothers Charlie Hoyt and his wife Marge of Westport, Walter Hoyt and his wife Eileen of Stamford, a sister Judy Pavlowski and her husband Frank of Norwalk, as well as seven grandchildren Joey, Jacquelyn, Danielle, Jessie, Kristen, Amanda , Lauren and three great grandchildren Kody, Amberlee and Emma Rose.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
