Carmine V.  Pikero
Carmine V. Pikero, 89, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on Saturday July 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Carmine was born in Stamford on July 19, 1926 to the late Louis and Margaret D’Andrea Pikikero.
Carmine was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a manager with Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET) for thirty seven years. He was a very active member of St. Leo’s Parish and its Senior Society. Carmine was the recipient of the St. Augustine Medal of Honor for his hard work and dedication to St. Leo’s Parish. He was the consummate family man, putting his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchild above all. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed gardening.
Carmine is survived by his loving wife of sixty five years, Josephine Palmeri Pikero, his children, Susan Zezima and her husband Jerry of Coram, NY, Kevin J. Pikero and his wife Lynn of Reno, NV, Cecile LaRusso of Fairfield, CT; his grandchildren, Katie Zezima, Lauren Robert-Demolaize, Andrew Pikero, Kevin Pikero, Jr., Ashley Pikero, Jordan LaRusso and Victoria LaRusso. His great-granddaughter Chloe Robert-Demolaize as well as his brother Jack Pikikero also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday July 28, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
