Obituary for Anthony Dominick Mammone

Anthony Dominick  Mammone
Anthony Dominick Mammone, 52, of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Stamford Hospital with his loving family by his side. Tony was born in Stamford on January 13, 1963 to Ernest L. and Anna Hearn Mammone, Sr.
Tony graduated Stamford High School, Class of ’81, where he played football and baseball. He also played baseball in Stamford’s Babe Ruth League. In his adult years, he played in the Norwalk Men’s Softball League where he traveled as far as North Carolina to compete in tournaments. However his claim to fame was playing in the Men’s Open Street Hockey League for the “Street Rats”, winning a multi-state tournament held at Stamford Catholic High School. Tony was a carpenter, having worked for his brother Jim and various Stamford contractors, namely; Bob Davis Contracting, Carpentry Unlimited, DanMar Construction and Architectural Aluminum and Glass. He had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, his Rottweiler Tyson, but mostly enjoyed watching “the love of his life”, his daughter Jade, who played competitive softball.
Besides his parents Tony is survived by his daughter Jade Mammone of Westport and her boyfriend of several years David Sutton of Norwalk, and son Tristan Turner, of Michigan, his brothers Ernest L. Mammone, Jr. and his wife Marguerite, James Mammone, his sisters, Terri Gruner and her husband Roy and Michelle Mammone, all of Stamford as well as his former wife Diane Daniello of Westport. He is also survived by his loving aunts, eight nieces and nephews, three great nephews, one great niece as well as several cousins.
Tony is predeceased by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephew and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 26, 2015 at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, CT at 10:30AM. Interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT is honored to assist the Mammone family with arrangements.
