Obituary for Howard W. Connaughton, Jr.

Howard W. Connaughton, Jr.,78, of Riverside, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Smith House Health Care Center in Stamford. He was born in New York City on October 17, 1935 to the late Howard W. and Jessica Hesch Connaughton, Sr.
Howard served with the New York Air National Guard for thirty five years as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 191 and drove for Valerie Transportation as a tractor trailer driver for forty five years. He enjoyed the hobby of building and collecting HO Trains all of his life. He especially enjoyed the time he spent camping with his family and friends.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Jean M. (Culasso) Connaughton of Riverside, his loving children, Howard W. Connaughton of San Francisco, CA, Susan Pacocha and her husband Michael of Riverside, Kevin J. Connaughton of San Francisco, CA and Stephen J. Connaughton of Bronx, NY. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Colleen Pacocha, Shannon Pacocha , Brenden Connaughton and his brother Kenneth Connaughton of Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes RC Church, 247 Stanwich Road, Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s RC Cemetery,Greenwich. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Howard’s memory to the Greenwich Adult Day Care, River House, 125 River Road Extension, Cos Cob, CT 06807
