Obituary for Tommaso Marena

Tommaso Marena, 81, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in San Mango, Sul Calore, Italy on January 12, 1933 to the late Giovanni and Ernesta Reppucci Marena.
Tommaso immigrated to the US from Italy with his family inorder to provide them with better opportunities. He was a generous,hardworking self employed mason with simple values and alway’s had a smile for everyone. Tommaso cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelina Coppola Marena of Stamford, two loving daughters, Ernesta Martin and her husband Ralph, Patricia Aslam, his loving son Anthony Marena and his wife Josephine all of Stamford, including his grandchildren Peter, Laura and Julia Martin, Sarah and Lauren Aslam, Tommaso, Paolo, Alessandro Marena.
Besides his parents, Tommaso was predeceased by a brother Salvatore Marena from Stamford and three sisters and two brothers in Italy, and his son in law Feroze Aslam of Stamford.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 9:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
