Obituary for Peter Salvatore Conetta

Peter Salvatore Conetta, 98, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2021. He was born in Stamford on August 9, 1922 to the late Peter P. and Rose Denicola Conetta.
Pete lived in Stamford his entire life. He joined the Navy and proudly fought for his country in World War II. He worked 55 years as a tool and die maker and the owner of Bren-Dan, Inc. A devoted husband, loving father and the most adoring grandfather and great-grandfather, he was quick with a joke and enjoyed his daily gym and lunch dates with his many, many friends.
Peter is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vites Gerardi Conetta, his loving son, Dennis Conetta and his wife M’Liss, his daughter-in-law, Lynn Conetta, and his grandchildren, Kevin, Kait, Jen, Casey, Chris and Dennis, and grandson-in-law, Tommy, as well as his great-granddaughter, Margot.
Besides his parents, Peter was also predeceased by his son, Peter M. Conetta and his sister, Dorothy “Dot” DeLuca.
A Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart RC Church and Interment at St. John’s RC Cemetery will be held privately. Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
A special thank you to his “Angel” and caregiver, Monica Rosales, and to all those who have cared for him and Vites over the years, especially Nelly Da la Cruz.
