Obituary for Jeanne L. Cartsounis (LaCroix)

Jeanne (LaCroix) Cartsounis, 83, born on March 30, 1938, in Springfield, MA passed away peacefully in her home in Fall River, MA on May 22. 2021with her loving daughters by her side.
Jeanne raised her family in Windsor Locks, CT. She was very talented and creative, mastering numerous hobbies throughout the years. She was an avid reader, loved learning, creative writing, taught herself calligraphy and to draw portraits. While supporting her young children in their activities, Jeanne was once a catechism teacher, and Brownie troop leader. In the 70s, Jeanne took many business courses at CCSU. In 1997, intrigued by technology, she set up her own computer to research and plan her "great escape" trip to Europe which came to fruition six months later. Prior to retiring in 2003, she worked as a secretary for the State of CT for 20 years. She then loved creating and playing music on her keyboard; taking walks, and bird watching. In 2010, Jeanne moved to Fall River, MA to be closer to her daughter, Gwenn. Together, they enjoyed driving along the scenic coastline, shopping, and discovering new lunch spots.
Jeanne was predeceased by her former husband and lifelong friend, Harry Cartsounis. She will be deeply missed by her children, Gwenn Marie and her husband Bruce Morrow of Swansea, MA; Kimberly Joy and her husband William Caterino of East Granby, CT; Donald Cartsounis and his wife Angela of Windsor Locks, CT. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Brandy Jean Caterino, Billy Caterino, Bianca Cartsounis Cheney and her husband Aric, Donald Henry Cartsounis, and James Cartsounis; and two great-grandchildren, Celestina and Immaculata Cheney.
A Mass of Christian Burial service will be held privately on Thursday, May 27, at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford. There will be no calling hours.
