Obituary for Michael Giordano III

Michael Giordano III, a longtime resident of Norwalk and a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, which was the date of his 31st wedding anniversary.
Michael was born in Stamford, CT, on April 24, 1965, and was the son of the late Michael Giordano, Jr. and Frances Ann Giordano.
Michael’s greatest joy was marrying his best friend and high school sweetheart, Lauren, his two sons, Michael and Christopher, as well as his beloved dog Sadie. His boys were avid baseball players, and he devoted most of his life to fulfilling their passion for the sport. Not a day went by that Mike was not on the baseball field with them. He spent many years as a baseball coach with the Rowayton and Cal Ripken Leagues, including many of their All-star teams. Whether he was coaching, training, having a catch, or cheering them on, he was not only their dad but their superhero and biggest supporter. He was also a loyal Buffalo Bills fan. In addition to being a talented coach, he was a skilled carpenter and loved by all his customers. In Michael’s early years as a child, Michael and his family were ballroom dancers. His parents owned a Ballroom Dance Studio, and he received many national titles. He also played roles in commercials and movies, including the motion picture Such Good Friends with Dianne Cannon. In 1970, he was the poster child for Dunkin’ Donuts, as his face was on many Dunkin’ Donuts windows in the country. Michael was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. As we know it, life will never be the same without his fun-loving, humorous, one-of-a-kind self.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Lauren (Vinci) Giordano; his two sons, Michael Giordano IV, and Christopher Giordano; his siblings, Gigi Lombardi, Ed Kaminski, and Deborah O’Neil; his in-laws, Nita Kaminski, Ricky Lombardi, Roxanne & Reid Nelson, Paul & Marni Vinci, Donald & Phoenix Vinci , many nieces & nephews, and his dog, Sadie.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Rocco and Betty Ann Vinci.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 10:30am at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820. The interment will be private. Following mass, friends and family are invited to attend a “Celebration of Life” between 12pm and 2:00 pm at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center’s Knobloch Family Farmhouse, at 151 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, CT 06903.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s name can be made to the Pet Animal Welfare Society, Inc. (PAWS) to 504 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851 or https://www.pawsct.org/donate.
