Obituary for Pera Franko (Chetcuti)

Pera Franko, a longtime resident of Stamford, peacefully passed away at her home on the morning of Wednesday, March 24, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born in Malta on November 14, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Carmela Ellul Chetcuti. Pera was 93 years old at the time of her passing.

Pera was lovingly known as “Moo-Moo” to her family and friends. Her greatest love was spending her time with her family. She was a devoted member of her church, St. Cecilia’s Parish. For the past twelve years she enjoyed participating in the Hope in Motion walk, under the team name “Moo-Moo’s Crew”, with her family, to celebrate her previous remission from lung cancer. Pera will be deeply missed by her family, and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Heaven has gained another angel.

She is survived by her daughters, Roxanne Main and her husband Alfy, Theresa Lowe and her husband Bill, and son, Lawrence Franko Jr.; grandchildren, Tanya Heigel (Dave), Patricia Inverno (Timmy), Stacy Lazarou (Bill), Billy Lowe (Nicole), Michael Lowe, Anthony Lowe and Melissa Faugno (Keith) and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Pera was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A. Franko, Sr. and her son, Frank Franko. Also predeceased by her siblings, Charlie, Joe, Frank and Julian Chetcuti and Angela Vill and Mary Papastathis.
