Obituary for William R. "Willie" Arnow

William Raymond Arnow, affectionately known as Willie, Willis, or Hillbilly Willie, passed away as a result of a snowmobiling accident on the evening of Tuesday, February 9, 2021. A native of Stamford, Willie was born August 25, 1987 to Roger W. Arnow, Jr. (Willie) and Marylee Arnow, née Saunders. He was 33 years old at the time of his passing.

Willie was that rare combination of a Man/Child. When it was time to work, be it excavating, laboring, truck/machine repair or job site management - he was never not up to the task (which was the Man part) - but when the work was done, it was now time to have fun. Kind of like the Kenney Chesney song "We went Out Last Night".

From sky diving, monster truck shows, four wheeling through trails complete with his favorite combination of water and mud (and the occasional garage door), boating, snowmobiling (his personal favorite) and of course hanging out and laughing with all of his friends.
Life was not a labor for Willie. He embraced it with a spirit and ferocity matched by none. His infectious love of life, his friends, his family, and most of all his mom, Marylee, his dad, Willie Sr., and his sister, Pam, go unequalled. His legacy of helping others, be they friends, relatives, co-workers, or people he barely knew, will live on in our hearts forever.

Life was his show and, thankfully, we were blessed to appear in it. But now it’s time to roll the credits… Willie was: Adventurous, a Character, FEARLESS, a Friend, Fun, Generous, LARGER THAN LIFE, a Legend, Loveable, Loving, Outgoing, POWERFUL, Shameless!!, Thoughtful, Unique and Unpredictable. These credits were provided by your friends, Willie. We miss you and love you more.

Willie is survived by his parents, his sister Pam, his grandmother Ida Saunders, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roger and Janet Arnow.
