Obituary for Marilyn Ann "Marley" DiPreta (Shaw)
Marilyn Ann (Shaw) DiPreta, 89, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was an avid bird watcher, animal lover and naturalist, and a dedicated wife and mother.
“Marley” was born on February 20, 1931 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. She moved to Stamford after marrying the love of her life, Leonard, in 1950. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in September.
She is survived by her husband Leonard DiPreta of Stamford and her four children, Leisa DiPreta Bell, Laura DiPreta, James (Gayle) DiPreta, and John DiPreta, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Amelia Shaw as well as her sister Shirley Sweeney.
