Obituary for Joseph M. Zurzola, Jr.

Joseph M. Zurzola Jr. passed away on January 17, 2021 at his home in Naugatuck, CT. He was born on May 24, 1957 in Stamford, CT to the late Jeanette Rich and Joseph M. Zurzola Sr.
As a graduate of Wright Tech in 1975, he developed his passion as a skilled machinist. Additionally, he honed his talent and trade with a subsequent post- graduate apprenticeship in Tool and Die. A master machinist, he found pride and joy in the ability to fabricate metals and plastics within the smallest of tolerances that most would never have known possible. Anyone who knew him would also appreciate that although his love of music was profound, it was subsequent to the love he had for his family. A player of jazz, blues, progressive, and any other genre of request was certainly within his realm. His talent and musical prowess were synonymous with his name, as was his loving visits with his grandchildren.
Joseph was a devout catholic who attended mass ritually and truly cherished his faith. He always found solace and servitude in helping others. One unbeknownst fact was also his love of cooking, which was undoubtedly sprouted by his mother Jeanette.
Joseph is survived by his loving son, Joseph M. Zurzola, III of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his daughter, Angela King of Gaylordsville CT and her husband Timothy, and his three beautiful grandchildren, Dyllan, Brianna, and Kailey. He is also survived by his sister, Lori Sagona of Massapequa Park, NY and her husband Joseph, and their two children Alyssa and Amanda, a brother, Robert Zurzola of New Fairfield, CT and his wife Kelly, and their three children, Emily, Robert, and Michael. Also surviving is his former wife Donna Zurzola.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT at 11:00 am on Friday, January 22, 2021. Interment will be held privately at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford.
