Dear Jane, Tony, Chris, Maureen , Tyler, Terry and Sarah , Brother was such a gentle humble man that many times he would sit quietly and observe what was happening around him, you could tell that he was very happy to be around his family. He had no reason to compete with anybody to over talk anyone or to make himself be noticed or a have the need to feel important .Now that I think about it - just watching him, observing him and the way he conducted himself and his gentle manner It spoke volumes as far as what kind of a person he was .I've known brother all my life , in 2005 I had the great pleasure to of stay with Jane and brother for 2 weeks while I was waiting for my new place to be ready .Now Jane got the Room downstairs ready for me ,she said welcome make yourself at home if there's anything you need help yourself or let me know. She made me feel very special . When I arrived I said hello to brother shook his hand we had dinner ,after dinner we went in the living room to watch TV for a while and then everybody went to bed . So the next morning I woke up and I went upstairs to the kitchen and there was brother and I said to myself Ah where's Jane and he said she's getting ready for work . To tell you the truth I panicked I said to myself well there's brother and here is me, what are we supposed to talk about ? I mean I've known him 42 years and I don't think we ever had a real conversation you know besides small talk and saying hello and good bye Suddenly brother spoke to me and I felt so much at ease because he made me feel welcome he told me the coffees there he asked what do I usually eat for breakfast ? We have cereal , English muffins and told me to help myself .I was so relieved because when I saw him I thought to myself where's Jane Marie why doesn't she get down here ? At first I was a little bit nervous to see brother and not Jane . I thought to myself well I'm gonna listen until I hear Jane get up tomorrow before I go upstairs because in the beginning I was afraid . But every time I saw brother he made me feel more and more comfortable more and more welcome more and more at home . So I would get up every morning as soon as I heard brother I go upstairs get my coffee we would talk , watch a little news , I really enjoyed his company . So the original 10 days that I was staying with them turned to 11 days turned to 12 days turned to 13 days turned to 14 days and Jane said Michael how long are you staying ? Finally I left on day 15. In all the years that followed Jane and Phil constantly welcomed me made me feel comfortable made me feel at home invited me for holidays and they are such wonderful people , I love them dearly . So pretty much the point behind this long story is Most of my life I thought to myself Phil doesn't talk. Well you know he did talk and he talked when he had something to say and you know that was a great learning lesson for me and a great example, I admired him I respected him I loved him and I will certainly miss him . My condolences to all the Carlo family and I'm very sorry that unfortunately I won't be able to attend the services but you are all in my thoughts and prayers God-bless , Michael Dugan
