Obituary for John J. ""Jack"" Hart, Jr.
John J. Hart Jr. (Jack), passed away on January 31, 2019. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut, May 29, 1941, the son of the late J. Joseph and Dorothy Downey Hart.
John is survived by his wife, Elsie Gillespie Hart, three sons, John B. Hart of Barnard, VT, Scott A. Hart of Guilford, CT, and Todd M. Hart of DelRay Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also, survived by a brother, Robert E. Hart of Manakin Sabot, VA, and a sister, Barbara A. Bartram, of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
John graduated Stamford High School, Class of 1959, and was a graduate of the McAllister School of Embalming, New York City, completing clinical work at Belleview Hospital, New York City, and then went on to a twenty six year career with Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home in Stamford.
Jack has been retried from the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory for several years, and served on many local, charitable fundraising committees. Jack is a former member and usher, at
Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Stamford, and a member of The Knights of Columbus, St. Augustine Council #41.
A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Shippan Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be held privately at the Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Stamford, CT.
