Obituary for Eileen B. Friedel (Sayers)
Eileen Friedel, 84, of Stamford, CT passed away on December 15, 2018. She was born in New Rochelle, NY on August 11, 1934 to the late Michael & Bridie Kennedy Sayers.
After graduating from business school, she worked for New York Life and eventually became Office Manager for Dr. Fienberg for many years in Scarsdale, NY. She was a lifelong Boston Red Sox’s fan, being an admirer of Ted Williams.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen McLoughlin and her husband Gerald of Stamford, CT, Joanne Klein of Kingston, NY, Denise Van Den Boomen and her husband Joepy of White Plains, NY and Elizabeth Sheridan and her husband Jack of Milford, CT, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, Mary Sayers of New Rochelle, NY, Josephine Williams and her husband Gary of University Park, MD and Peggy Kasten of New Rochelle, NY.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Theodore Friedel, Jr. and brother-in-law Fred Kasten.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on 10:30 AM at St. Bridget’s RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla,NY . Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
