Obituary for Anni Velasco (Seidel)

Anni Velasco, 84, formally of Stamford, passed away at home, December 13, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was Born in Bayreuth, Germany, October 21, 1934 and the daughter of the late Edmund & Anna (Fischer) Seidel.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Anselmo Velasco Cruz of Oaxaca, Mexico, her sister, Luise Seidel of Konstanz, Germany, her son, Arturo Gary Velasco of Rukersville VA, daughters, Luisa Velasco Cabana and her husband David of Wilbraham MA, Monica Rebecca Steyer and her husband Joseph of Orange CT, grandchildren, Ahriel and Devon of Rukerville, VA, Rebecca of Griswald, CT & David of Wilbraham, MA, and Andrew and his wife Brittney of Ansonia, and Kristina & Alex of Orange.
She immigrated in 1955 from Bayreuth, to Greenwich and eventually Stamford as an Au Pair. She helped support the Hispanic community in Stamford through her husband and brother-in-law, Galdino Velasco by establishing the first Hispanic Cultural Society.
She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and loved being a member of the North Stamford Seventh-day Adventist Church and the First Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Church in MA.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Monday, December 17 at 11:00am in the North Stamford Seventh-day Adventist Church 2136 High Ridge Rd. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Stamford Seventh-day Adventist Church or First Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1118 Sumner Ave, Springfield, MA 01118.
