Catherine T. Paulter, 98, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018. She was born in Moodus, CT on May 13, 1920 to the late Michael and Anna Stankowski Gowac.
We will miss her youthful spirit, her quick wit, sparkling eyes and ready smile. Cate was a gentle soul who loved all living things, particularly the birds outside her window, which she delighted in feeding regularly. She was loved by all who met her and had a great love for children, who were instinctively drawn to her.
Cate was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Anthony (Tony) Paulter and her brothers John, Stanley (Mickey), Edward and Joseph Gowac and sisters Josephine (Sue) Buchheit , Sophie Comeau, Stacia Shea, Victoria Golub, Caroline Drenga and Henrietta Gowac. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Viola Kalinowski and Frances Parkus of Moodus, CT, and by many nieces, nephews and dear friends, including Joan Paulter of Charlotte NC, Bob and Mary Lou Paulter of Port St Lucie FL, and Linda Shea of Moodus, CT. We will miss her beautiful smile.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
