Yvonne Winn, 73, a resident of Middletown, DE & formerly of Stamford, CT passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 after a long illness.
Yvonne was born in New Haven, CT on December 5, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Leola Carroll. She attended and graduated from Port Chester High School in Port Chester, NY. She worked for and retired from IBM in Stamford, CT as a Senior Executive assistant.
Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas Winn of Middletown, DE, her sons, Thomas Winn Jr. of Norwalk, CT and James (Christy) Winn of Midlothian, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jordan Winn and James Winn Jr of Midlothian, VA. and her sisters Juanita Finney (Profit), Cheryl Walters, Claudia Connors, Peggy Darden Caldwell (Willie), brothers William Thomas, and David Darden (Bridget) and several aunts, nieces, nephews & a host of extended family. She was predeceased by sisters Jean Thomas, Joan Darden Taylor & brother Kenneth Darden.
Yvonne will be remembered for her generosity and strength. She was a loving & compassionate person always willing to give her time & support in helping others in need. She most enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and close friends. Yvonne loved the Lord, and was a dedicated and devoted Christian attending church faithfully until such time her illness prevented her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM followed by a service of celebration at 10:00 AM at Union Baptist Church, 805 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT. with Rev. Dr. Robert W. Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park.
