Ralph V. Giannitti, 80, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on November 24, 2017. Born on July 19, 1937 in Stamford to the late Pietro and Concetta Buonaspina Giannitti.
Ralph developed a passion for cars at a very young age, which led to a lifelong career in the automotive industry. His happy and carefree spirit will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Joan Carolyn Waterbury Giannitti, his four daughters; Carolyn Giannitti of Montreal, Canada, Susan Cortese and her husband John of Norwalk, CT, Jennifer Nash of Stamford, CT, and Laurie Leeney and her husband Tom of Bridgeport, CT. Ralph is also survived by his five grandchildren; Rachael, Briana, John Anthony, Ryan, and Brooke and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 PM, with a service to be held at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Cassena Care of Stamford and Stamford Hospital for the exemplary care given to their loved one.
