Mary Ann ""Mimi"" Kennedy (Jarrett)
Mary Ann “Mimi” Kennedy, 61, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 23, 2017. She was born in Stamford on February 12, 1956 to the late Donald E. and Mary Rewalk Jarrett.
Mary Ann lived in Stamford her whole life and worked at Stamford Hospital as a registered nurse for over 20 years. After which she became an instructor at Wright Tech and Bullard Haven Technical schools for over 16 years, where she enjoyed passing her love of nursing onto her students. Besides her compassionate nursing and teaching skills, Mary Ann was an amazing cook and avid quilter as well as the most loving and thoughtful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Foxwoods Reservation and enjoyed trying her luck there. She was a wonderful mother who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Mary Ann’s family would like to extend a warm thank you to the Bennett Cancer Center as well as the Visiting Nurse Hospice of Fairfield County for their considerate care and concern for our mom.
Mary Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, David L. Kennedy of Stamford, her children, Janice L. Raggi and her husband John of Stamford, David J. Kennedy of Stamford, Daniel P. Kennedy and his wife Melissa (Sestito) of Stamford and Kathleen E. Lapierre and her husband Lucien of SC, as well as her brother Kenneth Jarrett of Stamford, sister in law, Jeanne Puglisi and her husband George of Monroe, six grandchildren, Brian, John, Christopher, Isabella, Peter and Lilly. Also surviving are two nieces, Erin Puglisi, Theresa Jarrett and a nephew Stephen Jarrett.
A memorial service will be celebrated at on December 9th, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Stamford at 10 am.
