James Tarzia, Sr.
James A. Tarzia, Sr., 68, of Fairfield and formerly of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was born on May 5, 1949 in Ashville, NC to the late Dominic and Eloise Hollus Tarzia.
The love of his life included his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a passion for operating heavy equipment for his business, Connecticut Dismantling Company, “Experience the Professionals”. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and was an avid sports fan. In his younger years he loved playing guitar and was a member of “A Group Called Us.” He was a great person and a great cook; his turkey gravy will be missed.
He is survived by his devoted wife of forty eight years, Camille Zarrilli Tarzia of Stamford, his loving children, James A. Tarzia, Jr. and his wife Tonya of Brookfield, Samantha Tarzia and her husband Marc Hampton of NJ, Ralph Tarzia and his wife Bernadette of Fairfield, his brother Nick Tarzia of Milford and his step mother Elizabeth Tarzia of FL, as well as his grandchildren Laura, Brittany, Paige, Brianna, Ralph, Jr., great-grandchildren Bentley and Blake.
Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother, Domenick Tarzia.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 11:00-3:00 PM with a prayer service to be held at 2:30 PM. Interment will be private.
