Obituary for Lenore B. Shoztic (Marino)

Lenore B. Shoztic, 72, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was born in Stamford on November 22, 1944 to the late Leonard and Lucy Ferullo Marino.
Lenore was a 1962 graduate of Stamford High School, where she met her lifetime love and best friend, George. Lenore was the consummate daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was selfless and modest and was a great listener with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a doting daughter who cared tenderly for her mother and father in their later years and endured her own battles with illness over the course of her life with dignity, grace and hope. Her loss will leave a great void that will never be filled.
Lenore is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, George J. Shoztic of Stamford, her loving son, Matthew Shoztic, his wife, Kathleen, and her beloved grandchildren, Zachary and Ryan Shoztic, all of Stamford, as well as a twin brother, Leonard Marino and his wife, Terri, of Stamford and a sister, Patricia Montanaro, of Darien. Also surviving are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Elaine Shoztic, of Stamford and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lenore’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, One Hospital Plaza, Stamford, CT 06902.
