Charles Joseph Ney passed away on July 15, 2017 in Stamford Hospital with his wife, Kathleen, by his side. Charlie was born in Springfield, MA to Charles and Marion Hardy Ney on June 7, 1938.
Charlie grew up in Bridgeport, CT and attended Fairfield Prep. He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1964. He was employed as a salesman both in Vermont and Connecticut and was outgoing and friendly. A Stamford resident since 1985, Charlie lived in Vermont for many years and enjoyed skiing and playing golf. He was a member of the Stratton Mountain Country Club from 1966 until it closed in 2015.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathleen Hurley Ney, and by his many nieces and nephews who were very close to him.
Besides his parents Charlie was predeceased by his sister Mary Lou and his brother David.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday July 22, 2017 at 11:00AM at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford, CT. Burial will be privately held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charles’ name to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108 or a charity of one’s choice.
