Joseph Edward Flynn, Jr. ,79, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born in Stamford on July 23, 1937 to the late Joseph E. Flynn, Sr. and Gladys Scott Flynn.
Joe was married to his friend and love of his life Bonnie. He retired as a draftsman from Peabody Engineering of Stamford. He and Bonnie spent their retirement living and traveling across the United States visiting historical landmarks. Joe was an avid Yankees fan and a member of the Stamford Eagles Club. He had a passion for knowledge of history, sports and a cold beer. Joe will be remembered as a compassionate, encouraging and proud father. His spirit and sense of humor will remain in the hearts of all that knew him.
Joseph is survived by his loving daughter Terri Flynn Colucci of Trumbull, CT, his grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph Colucci and Alex Anne Colucci. His brother Roger J. Flynn of Naples, FL, a sister Jane Palumbo and her husband Jim of Ridgefield, CT, as well as his nephews and nieces, Jay Flynn, Linda Goode, Michael, Christopher and Marissa Palumbo and also many cousins and close friends.
Besides his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his wife Bonnie J. Flynn, his son Joseph James Flynn and his brother James J. Flynn.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 AM with a Prayer Service to be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be privately held.
