Obituary for Lillian D. ""Lilly"" Curto (Chiappetta)

Lillian D. “Lilly” Curto, 90, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 6, 2017. She was born on February 9, 1927 in Cos Cob, CT to the late Umile and Mary Intrieri Chiappetta.
Lilly was a former employee of Clairol and American Cyanimid for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, reading and going to the Cos Cob Library. Most importantly, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved telling them stories. She also enjoyed teaching them how to knit and going to all of their activities. She also enjoyed taking care of her orchids and African violets.
She is survived by her loving children Victoria Sparagna and her husband Pat of Stamford, and Theodore Curto of Long Island; her six grandchildren, Frank and his wife Malee Sparagna, Patrick, Kelly and her husband Nicholas Scorza, Toni and her husband Thomas Ginty, Silas, and Ian; seven great grandchildren, Victoria, Vanessa, Amanda, Francesca, Gabriella, Nicholas and Caitlin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Lilly was predeceased by her husband Theodore L. Curto, three brothers Frank, Larry and Victor Chiappetta, and three sisters Enis Verses, Irene Boskello and Eleanor Novakowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:30 AM at St. Michael’s RC Church, North Street, Greenwich. Interment will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lillian’s memory to Greenwich Hospital Home Hospice, 500 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830 or to Cos Cob Library, 5 Sinawoy Road, Cos Cob, CT 06807.
