Obituary for Michael Eugene McKinzie

Michael Eugene  McKinzie
Michael Eugene McKinzie, 63, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Sunday, September 25, 2016. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on April 10, 1953 to the late Eugene and Mary Ellen O’Donnell McKinzie.
He was a graduate of Wilton High School, Class of 1971, was in the United States Air Force with honorable discharge, as well as attended Mechanic School in PA. Michael had an early passion and talent for photography, respected and enjoyed nature, was an avid hunter and fisher and believed in his second Amendment. He was a proud Boys Scout Leader for fifteen years with his son and Archery Instructor. He was employed as high security for former President Gerald Ford and President George Bush, Sr. Michael was a loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather and worked diligently to provide for his family.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of over thirty eight years Anita L. Tarzia McKinzie of Hamden, a loving daughter Ashley L. Donovan and her husband Paul of Hamden, a loving son Michael Al-Dominick McKinzie and his significant other Abby L. Ecker of Hamden, a grandson Andrew Michael Donovan and sister Catherine Ann McKinzie of FL and a brother Paul John McKinzie of MO. He was devoted to making his family feel secure, cared for and loved.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien. There will be no calling hours.
