Obituary for Kevin Cuddy

Stamford Artist, Kevin Cuddy, 68, died of a ruptured thoracic aneurysm on October 2, 2012. Kevin was born in Stamford and graduated from St. Mary’s School and Stamford High School. He attended Pratt Institute in New York City, where he graduated second in his class in 1966 with a BFA in Graphic Arts. He studied at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and the University of Washington in Seattle where he earned a MFA and taught printmaking. His last work, a rearing horse sculpture, installed near the Avon Theater, was part of the Art in Public Places “Horsin Around Stamford Downtown” exhibit this past summer.
Kevin was a courageous and fierce yet gentle spirit who was full of laughter and wit. He is survived by his sister Robin, brothers Michael and Sean, sister-in-law Susan, and nephews Michael, Francis and Thomas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 12 Noon at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment is private and there will be no calling hours.
